CYBERTACOS Makes its Mark on DC CyberWeek

In the midst of CyberScoop’s DC CyberWeek and National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, more than 300 cybersecurity professionals gathered on Tuesday night for yet another CYBERTACOS®!

Held at MXDC, CYBERTACOS welcomed attendees from all over the Washington, D.C. metro region for a night full of networking and bottomless tacos. With a line out the door from the minute the event started, attendees even continued to roll in to check out the scene for the last half hour of the event.

To add to the evening of cybersecurity, W2 Communications, along with our client ForeScout, hosted an Election Security Town Hall panel discussion before CYBERTACOS commenced. The candid discussion focused on election security imperatives, and dove into progress and challenges as we near the midterm elections. Stay tuned for a recap of that discussion on the blog next week!

As always, we want to say “thank you!” to our  CYBERTACOS sponsors: AppTek, ATARC, BMC, Business Wire, Carahsoft, Cisco, CTOvision.comCushman & WakefieldCyberVista, DLT, Duo Security, Fifth Domain, ForeScout, Fortinet, GovLoop, Government Matters, NetCentrics, OPNids and, of course, W2 Communications.

The CYBERTACOS team is already starting to plan the next event, which will take place during RSA Conference 2019 on Monday, March 4 at Tres SF. Registration and additional details will be available soon. If you are interested in sponsoring, please email us at cybertacos@w2comm.com.

In addition, be on the lookout for CYBERTACOS’ upcoming awards program! The “Cybersecurity Impact Awards” will recognize the best cybersecurity companies in the Washington, D.C. region and the important role they play in helping to establish/recognize this area as a “hotbed” for cybersecurity innovation. The call for nominations is set to open this winter, and winners will be announced at a special CYBERTACOS awards banquet in May 2019.
