In this season of giving, W2 Communications was proud to partner with AFCEA DC, the Washington, DC-based chapter of AFCEA International, and Toys for Tots in support of its 2022 Toy Drive Challenge. We collected over 200 toys over the course of the eight-week drive, contributing to AFCEA DC’s goal of 8,000 toys donated. Thank you to everyone who contributed – whether you donated via the Amazon wish list, monetarily or dropped off a toy at one of our drop-off locations!
Last week, members of our team attended the AFCEA DC’s annual Winter Gala, the largest, must-attended social networking event for senior-level DoD, military flag officers and federal IT decision-makers, and the industry executives that support them, where they announced the donation totals.
“Thank you for this effort and for W2 Communications’ support and commitment to our AFCEA and broader DOD and Federal IT community and giving back to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation,” said James Hanson, Head of Industry Strategy, Public Sector at Adobe and Vice President of Communications & Chair of the Winter Gala. “For the AFCEA DC community to give back to those less fortunate during the holiday season when it is often most needed makes me feel even more humbled and honored to be a part of it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
While this year’s drive has come to a close, we are inviting you to join us in continuing to spread holiday spirit. Here are a few ways to continue to support Toys for Tots:
- Provide a monetary donation
- Find a local Toys for Tots drop off location
- Learn more about becoming a Toys for Tots sponsor or corporate donor
- Donate to the Toys for Tots Literacy Program, helping bring the gift of reading to less fortunate children
“We are thrilled to support our friends and partners at AFCEA DC in this significant annual effort,” said Jason Werden, Vice President, Public Sector, W2 Communications. “Participating in philanthropic efforts such as this Toys for Tots campaign are made all that much easier due to the overwhelming support and involvement of our incredible team here at W2 Communications.”
As part of our commitment to supporting the greater social good, W2 Communications’ Social Action Committee is proud to offer our services pro bono to organizations in need throughout the year. If you are a non-profit with limited marketing resources, please reach out.
“The AFCEA DC Winter Gala is the premier event celebrating the contributions and service to our country by our nation’s military and Federal leadership. We are also incredibly proud to be able to pair this event with the Toys for Tots annual gift giving drive and make this Christmas a little brighter for many children.”
